Price is way too high need to come down from $22 August 23, 2008 These are the best brownies that I've had and the best organic product I've tried. Unfortunately I will have to limit my purchases because their too expensive. These are organic and not cooked or processed. I would still rather pay more if I could afford it to buy these organic brownies. You'll definitely want to try. I hesitated to buy these but I'm glad I did. I expected some dry or dull tasting organic snack but their as good as real brownies just not as sugary but definitely sweet because of the natural sugar from the dates and organic agave nectar which has a lower glycemic count than sugar. Their very moist, sweet, but not sweet like a refined sugar. Package says certified usda organic so i'm hoping they are truely organic but I'm very wary even when they label them especially with some organic companies using unfiltered city water which is not safe and in some cases fluoridated. No thanks on the fluoride.
Try them with a little peanut butter! July 10, 2008 I'm a big buyer of food bars, because I'm a college student and I don't have a lot of time to put together healthy meals during the week. After doing a lot of reading I've been gravitating more towards "Raw foods", and more specifically, "Raw Bars". I like Lara Bars, but sometimes I feel like they don't satisfy me enough, and most of the flavors I like have over 220 calories. I saw these Pure Chocolate Brownie bars in Lowe's, and decided to try them.
I tried all of the other flavors first, and I do really like the Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate Chip Trail Mix. The blueberry one was not very good, it didn't really taste like blueberries, and I couldn't figure out what I was tasting. It wasn't worth the 190 calories. Chocolate Brownie is by far, my favorite! I enjoy them alone, but I tried one with just a TINY bit of peanut butter spread on to it [and I mean, a tiny bit] and it was even better. It really tastes like a rich gooey brownie - and totally satisfies my chocolate craving. I babysit all day during the summer and it kills me to watch the kids enjoying their treats - but if I bring along one of these bars I don't feel like I'm missing out at all, I feel like they should be jealous of ME because the Pure Bars are that good!
I am however, taking off one star because of the price. I know most food bars are expensive, but these are two bucks at the grocery store, which isn't bad if you run in and buy like one...but if you decide to stock up and buy say, 5 or 10 of them, that's going to set you back anywhere between $10-$20. Definitely costs more than other bars, like Kashi or Lara bars....but they are great to have every so often.
Love 'em!
Weird smell, ok flavor. February 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried several of these bars, but I had to hold my breath to take a bite -- they smell terrible! Like vinegar or something. Most unpleasant. The taste isn't bad, but it ain't a chocolate brownie, I don't care what any of the other reviews say!
These Are Soooo Good! July 8, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I don't know how these would taste if one is used to eating junk foods and cooked foods, but I have been eating only raw foods for two months and these bars are really a special treat. The chocolate in them is as pleasing to me as any chocolate cake, brownie, or candy bar ever was when I used to eat junk foods - even more so because I know that they are healthy and I am truly satisfied once I am finished with the bar!
Craving Chocolate? June 27, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are craving chocolate and want to keep it pure and simple, try this chocolate brownie bar. It will satisfy your sweet tooth and at the same time, be a great snack. Made with organic, raw ingredients, I recommend you try this one the next time a brownie craving comes into your mind.
