Product Description CAN I GET A “RAMEN” FROM THE CONGREGATION?!
Behold the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM), today’s fastest growing carbohydrate-based religion. According to church founder Bobby Henderson, the universe and all life within it were created by a mystical and divine being: the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What drives the FSM’s devout followers, a.k.a. Pastafarians? Some say it’s the assuring touch from the FSM’s “noodly appendage.” Then there are those who love the worship service, which is conducted in pirate talk and attended by congregants in dashing buccaneer garb. Still others are drawn to the Church’s flimsy moral standards, religious holidays every Friday, or the fact that Pastafarian heaven is way cooler: Does your heaven have a Stripper Factory and a Beer Volcano? Intelligent Design has finally met its match–and it has nothing to do with apes or the Olive Garden of Eden.
Within these pages, Bobby Henderson outlines the true facts– dispelling such malicious myths as evolution (“only a theory”), science (“only a lot of theories”), and whether we’re really descended from apes (fact: Humans share 95 percent of their DNA with chimpanzees, but they share 99.9 percent with pirates!) See what impressively credentialed top scientists have to say:
“If Intelligent Design is taught in schools, equal time should be given to the FSM theory and the non-FSM theory.” –Professor Douglas Shaw, Ph.D. “Do not be hypocritical. Allow equal time for other alternative ‘theories’ like FSMism, which is by far the tastier choice.” –J. Simon, Ph.D.
“In my scientific opinion, when comparing the two theories, FSM theory seems to be more valid than classic ID theory.” –Afshin Beheshti, Ph.D.

Hilarious December 26, 2008 This has got to be one of the funniest books I have ever read. It has the mindset of "if yours is true, why isn't mine?" Fantastic read. Just make sure you know: It's not a hardcover book! It's a paperback with a picture of a hardcover book on the front, making the book even less serious.
Inside, there are commentaries and letters written to the author in reaction to his original writing, so this is obviously not a first-edition printing. But I don't mind that, I find it much more amusing that way.
Bes book ever December 21, 2008 This book is simly a must have in your night cupboard. After I have read it i feel like I was truly touched by his noodly apendage. It certainly helps me see the world differently now. Learning about his devine presence was an experienece like no other.
Awesome...but... December 16, 2008 OK, here's my conundrum. I LOVE the book. Its witty, engaging, extremely well written, and damn clever. My only gripe ( and it's MY fault, i know) is that I didn't realize I was buying the paperback version. See, the picture on the cover of the paperback IS a picture of what appears to be a a leather bound hardcover or the like. Now, to be fair, I'm still giving the book 5 stars, because its that good. It's not so much that I'm giving the book 5 stars; it's more along the lines that Bobby Henderson EARNED 5 stars, and it would be petty of me to give the book an unfair rating because of my mistake. (I HATE when people give a book a bad review because their order was late...). Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. RAmen.
A Most Worthy Religious Text! :D December 16, 2008 I have been a devout Pastafarian for more than three years now and this is the second copy of the Gospel that I have purchased. I bought one for our church originally but that copy got lost, and I recently converted a friend in college so I bought him one as a present. This is definitely a most interesting read, and it is worth every penny! :D
RAmen, brother. November 30, 2008 This is a hilarious bit of satire regarding the intelligent design controversy in public schools. I'm almost a convert to Pastafarianism after reading the book. I'd recommend this to anyone with an open mind and a sense of humor.
