Product Description
The New York Times bestselling author of The Red Hat Club fearlessly takes on mothers and daughters, wedding madness, and midlife passion in this frank, funny, and fabulous new novel. Georgia, Linda, Diane, Teeny, and Pru have been best friends since high school, and never have they needed one another more. Georgia’s precious twenty-eight-year-old daughter, Callie, has gone and gotten engaged. Usually this would be cause for celebration. After all, this is the South, where dreams of white dresses and wedding bells are as important as finding the perfect hat. But Callie’s intended groom just happens to be a man they went to high school and college with: Wild Man Wade! These women know more about the groom than the bride does. His drunken shenanigans. His wild oats. And all of his conquests as well as his mistakes. They can imagine him in the most inappropriate of circumstances, but not as a son-in-law! With absolutely hilarious Southern observances and dead-on wit about mothers, daughters, marriage, and families, Wedding Belles will have you laughing and crying whether you live above or below the Mason-Dixon line.

ridiculous book December 16, 2008 This is one of the worst books I have ever read. The basic theme of friendship is great but the actions of these women are totally unbelievable. Who in real life has the time, energy, or inclination to devote to the activities of these women (in particular the kidnapping-wedding dress party)?
friends forever November 29, 2008 "Wedding Belles" is the 5th book I've read in this series. It's one of the best - will make you laugh AND cry. I love these "Red Hat" ladies.
Red Hats Ride Again --- Hooray for Heywood Smith!!!!! October 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you haven't read the two prior Red Hat books, don't let this stop you from reading this one...but do yourself a favor and order those right away. Her characters are warm, witty, and the epitome of girlfriends everywhere. I liked it so much that I ordered a second copy for a friend, and I know that Amazon readers will, too.
Now I'm waiting for the next one...

Wonderful Story Of Southern Women October 3, 2008 Absolutely true picture of southern women and their beliefs. If you have ever lived in the south you know the truth. If you haven't read the book. This is the way they believe and behave in the south. It is after all the Bible Belt. I laughed out loud in many spots but I also cried when Elena's letters were read. If you have read the two lead up novels this is a perfect step in the series. If you haven't read the Red Hat books this book can stand on it's own. It is about a mother's love and trying to protect her only daughter from heartbreak and the consequences of doing that! An excellent book.
Entertaining September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Somewhat sermonizing but otherwise entertaining. Some of the plot outcomes are a bit obvious. I love all of the characters - they're very human, very down to earth.
One thing I don't understand, however, is Linda's married name being the same as her maiden name. Did she marry a distant cousin? Not having the previous books at hand, I have no history to reference. Does anyone know?
My only beef is it could have used sharper editing, e.g., "You look mah-velous" was credited to Ricardo Montelban when it should have been Fernando Lamas and Sol Rosenwasser's name morphed into Sol Wasserman.
The book is worth the time and (sometimes) effort to read. It is, for the most part, pretty entertaining. There are a few laugh-out-loud portions which are most welcome in the occasional pontificating (I guess using that word to describe a Southern Baptist is laughable in itself).
I'm sure her fans will welcome this endeavor w/ open arms.
