A Great 1 TB Drive at an Excellent Price January 2, 2009 I had never heard of Cavalry hard drives, but I read several positive reviews here on Amazon and decided to go with this one. I have not been disappointed. Here are some observations I've made on the unit:
Positive Aspects: ----------------- - The drive looks very sharp. - It has a good sturdy metal case and can be side mounted on a enclosed stand, or sit on 4 small rubber feet on the bottom of the unit. - The drive has a power switch on the back of it (something a lot of USB drives do not have, for some curious reason) - The front of the unit lights up to let you know when the drive is on, and when data transfer is taking place. - The power adapter has a narrow shape that will fit in a surge protector and only take up the space of one plug. - This drive is extremely quiet. Quite a few similar drives I have used are quite noisy. This one hardly makes any noise at all. - Data transfer rate is quite good. I have been very pleased.
Negative Aspects: ----------------- - I honestly have nothing negative to say about this unit in any way.
I would recommend this drive to anyone that needs extra storage space. I am using it in conjunction with Acronis True Image to do a full backup of my entire computer on a regular basis.
Great Product! December 31, 2008 I've been using this External for over a month now with absolutely no problems at all. Out of the box, I plugged it in to my Vista OS laptop, and it was ready to use. I have now filled over 50%. Although not a true TB(a true TB is 1024GB), it is 1000 GB with 980 something GB of useable space. I have never felt it get more that slightly warm and is completely silent. I have already recommended this External to friends.
TERA December 25, 2008 it wasn't exactly 1000GB, there was a significant amount that was unusable (missing), about 60 gigs. ;(
Cavalry 1Tb December 20, 2008 I am very satisfied with this product. I've had it for over a month. I haven't had any problems backing up files and it was very easy to install.I would reccomend this product to anyone looking to up grade.
Decent producr but OTB does not work December 20, 2008 This external hard drive works, looks great, is small and silent. I installed the One Touch Backup software that came with it, but it does not work. I have to manually drag the folders I need to back up to the drive, in windows explorer. This takes more time, of course.
